Study Visit to South Africa |

Karacadağ Development Agency will make a study visit to South African Republic, the rising star of the African Continent. The Administrative Board of Agency will have an exchange of ideas and share experiences of related actors, visit best practices on regional development, and contact with related institutions to promote the investment opportunities in GAP Region, Diyarbakır and Şanlıurfa.
Study visit, between May 25th and June 1st, will be chaired by Mr. Celalettin GÜVENÇ-Governor of Şanlıurfa and Deputy Cahirman of Administrative Board and will be held with the participation of Members of Administrative Board, Mr. Ahmet Eşref FAKIBABA-Mayor of Şanlıurfa, Mr. Eyyüp Sabri ERTEKİN-President of Şanlıurfa Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Mr. Mehmet Mürşit EKİNCİ-President of Diyarbakır Provincial General Assembly, Mr. Alican EBEDİNOĞLU- President of Development Committee and President of Diyarbakır Union of Chambers of Tradesmen and Artisans, Mr. İlhan KARAKOYUN-Secretary General of Agency and Experts of Agency. During the visit, Gauteng Growth and Development Agency (GGDA), Gauteng Department of Economic Development, The Western Cape Destination Marketing, Investment and Trade Promotion Agency- (WESGRO), Cape Town Department of Tourism and Executive Mayor of Cape Town will be visited. In addition, the activities of Sesli Textile Company, who has investment in South Africa, will be examined during the study visit. In addition to share information on activities and experiences of the institutions that will be visited, it is expected to gather information on investment, cooperation and also export opportunities for the investors in Diyarbakır and Şanlıurfa. Mr. Celalettin GÜVENÇ, Governor of Şanlıurfa and Deputy Chairman of the Administrative Board of Agency said that; The African continent, recently, attracted world's attention with her rising income and growing economy by means of her underground treasure. Turkish businessmen, whose markets in Europe shrunk due to the global crisis, has recognized this opportunity in Africa and their export increased to 11 billion dollars, which was 1,7 billion dollars in 2002. South African Republic, the leading and most advanced country in African continent, continues to be driving force of continental economy with her underground treasures especially gold and coal resources; and tourism potential. As Karacadağ Development Agency, we would like to contribute to the activities in the region by examining the best practices around the world especially in the field of development. In this context, as Agency, we will meet with the representatives of the institutions and organizations that contribute to the development of country. We will examine South Africa's developing sectors; textile and garment industry and also tourism sector of the country. |
